For today’s UI challenge, here’s a quick concept for a mobile logo for The Daily Planet’s news app. I wanted to use elements of the original logo, but changed the ribbon to an “N” shape in the hope that without text it still somewhat looks like a news app. I thought thick, hard lines could mimic ink and bring to mind print formats like papers. I used yellow-gold to emphasize the world-class journalist team with multiple Pulitzer prize winners on staff combined with a red ribbon. Obviously there’s no other reason to have a red streak circle around the globe like that. Reference photos below.
